A gem of both plant and bird diversity in central Iowa, Brenton Arboretum currently manages a collection of more than 2,500 trees of 500 species and is visited by nearly 200 species of birds each year. Join us for a morning exploring the Arboretum in search of nesting birds including Baltimore Oriole, Eastern Bluebird, Rose-breasted Grosbeak and many others. There's a chance we may see some other unique Iowa species including Northern Bobwhite, Willow Flycatcher, and Orchard Oriole, and we may even learn a bit about trees! We hope you can tag along! This trip is free but advance registration is requested.
Iowa Young Birders welcomes everyone to the outdoors regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, orientation, religion, creed, national origin, or disability status. As an IAYB event, this field trip is open to young birders and their parents/guardians/caretakers.
