Each year in late April, Chimney Swifts return from their winter vacation in South America to nest in chimneys and tree cavities across Iowa. We are partnering with Wild Birds Unlimited and the Octagon Center for the Arts to welcome back nesting Chimney Swifts to downtown Ames! We will have a short program to learn about Chimney Swifts and then take a sunset stroll to look for these aerial acrobats. We hope you can join us!
This trip is free but advanced registration is required. We welcome young birders of all ages and their families. No previous birding experience is required.
