Each year, bird watchers and citizen scientists of all ages participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count to capture a real-time snapshot of bird distributions across North America. Join us and be part of the nearly 160,000 people that participate in this important effort! We're partnering with Story County Conservation and Wild Birds Unlimited to conduct a Great Backyard Bird Count at McFarland Park near Ames. We'll learn about our common winter feeder birds in Iowa and the different types of bird feeders they use, and we'll make bird feeders to attract birds to our own yards! This is sure to be a fun morning! Click here to register for the event on the Story County Conservation website.
