DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge, tucked along the Missouri River on the border of Iowa and Nebraska, is a very popular location among migratory waterbirds, hosting some of Iowa's largest concentrations of ducks and geese each fall and spring. Shorebirds also visit DeSoto during migration, and several species of songbirds take advantage of the many wetlands, grasslands, and bottomland forests on this important area. Come spend a morning with us enjoying the outdoors and learning about waterfowl migration! This trip is free but advanced registration is required. Binoculars will be available for use.
